Confined Space Entry

A “confined space” is a fully or partially enclosed space that is not designed or constructed for continuous human occupancy, and in which atmospheric hazards may occur.  Effective September 30, 2006 the Ontario Ministry of Labour (MOL) updated and amended previous regulations on confined spaces to provide a separate, stand-alone Confined Spaces Regulation (O.Reg.632/05) that applies to all workplaces.

Terra Discovery provides confined space entry services in a safe and proper manner in accordance with MOL regulations.  This specifically includes:

  • Confined Space Entry training updates annually
  • First aid and cpr updates every three years
  • Equipment for monitoring atmospheric conditions
  • Emergency rescue equipment
  • Permit entry system

We have also developed procedures to avoid the need for confined space entry in certain situations where remote operated camera systems and measuring techniques can be used instead.
